I would like to get DD (age 4.5) a pair of Ugg-like boots for the fall/winter. I do not want to shell out big bucks for a pair of shoes that will not be worn daily, (which these will not) but I also don't want shoes that will fall apart after three wears. Can anyone recommend a pair of Ugg-like boots that held up decently and were cozy for their DD? Thanks!

I just got DD1 a pair of the Kirkland brand Uggs. This is the first year that I could buy them for her as they don't start until size 10 but I have worn the women's size ones for years and have two pairs. They are great. The kids ones are $21.99

Any idea if the Costco boots can be bought online or do they have to be purchased in store?

I don't see them on the webpage when I search for them. In my store they had a big display of them on the end caps.

Thanks! We're not members so I'll try to find someone who is and check them out.

Last year I got the girls Bear Paws from an Amazon sale. They LOVED them and wore them to death. I had to pitch them at the end of the winter - which was fine, I would have been puking if I had spent $100+ on them and had to toss them! ;)

Another fan of Costco Fugs. I wish they started in size 8 as DD2 would love some, but she is just starting to wear a size 8 shoe. Last year she had really good luck with the Target brand ones, and honestly the sole wore a little better on those than the Costco Fuggs.

I have a pair (for myself, but girls size 4) at Target that are 6+ years old and a bit stained but holding up just fine. Wouldn't expect them to last as long on a kid, but should last until she outgrows them!

And smart to look for fake ones -- I also own a pair of real Uggs, which I would never have spent the money on myself. They (women's size 6) were a hand me down from a 9 year old whose mother gave them to me back when I was a poor college student after her daughter outgrew them having only worn them a handful of times!

Just a note about the Kirkland ones, this year they are running really narrow/small. DD1 is just in an 11, and the 13s weren't even a good fit.

DD liked her H&M Fuggs. I think they were around $10 and she wore them for 2 years!

Did any of these Fuggs stink? I got DDs the ON ones a couple of years back and they smelled horrible after being worn a few times. Of course that could be because they insisted on wearing them without socks, like their friends with real Uggs, LOL.

IME the ones with real shearling (like the Costco ones) don't smell while the ones with a fake lining do.

Thanks for all these suggestions. Costco is an hour away and we don't have Target either :shake: but I will look into both when we visit family in a few weeks!

I scored a pair of Ukala Sydneys from 6pm.com. Real shearling for around $25. Would get the Costco ones but DD is no wear near the size 10 they start (or started). Maybe try there?

I'm too late to tell you that both Costco and Target have worked well for DD.

I saw that someone asked whether you could order Costco's online. Even if you could, I wouldn't--sizing is funky.

I bet Target carries them online, though. And their sizing is more consistent. I got an email that kids' shoes are buy one, get one 50% off--I'm not sure if that is (still?) valid online.

I wear the Kirkland (costco) uggs as slippers at home. I buy a new pair every 2 years or so. I purchase the kid size because the women's don't come small enough for my feet. I like that they are real shearling for that price. Most others at that price point are fleece or faux shearling.

DD wore bearpaws last year and they were nice. She finally fits in the costco ones this year, so we just picked up a pr of those for her for this year.

We've bought both Costco and BearPaws and I think the BearPaws held up better. I think they are more $$ though.

I just found Bearpaws on DSW.com for around $50. That's more than I paid last year from Amazon... I want to say they were $25 or $30 as a gold box deal.

I paid $35 for adult Bear Paws at Nordstrom Rack last December before Christmas.
