My 3yo son loves to play "grocery store man" and pretend to sell us all a variety of items. We think he'd enjoy having a cash register to add to his game. We'd like one that has some kind of bills/coins that goes with it so that we can also use it to teach him about money. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Highly recommend the Learning Resources one. That thing is like a tank - indestructible and yet the object of attention of every kid that visits, including our own. I got it at a yard sale but I have bought it new as a gift.

I second the Learning Resources one. We have the less expensive one that doesnt talk. DS loves it.

We have one from Lakeshore Learning. I know everyone recommends the Learning Resources one but DS wanted something with a scanner, he loves stores with self checkout. We've had this one since Christmas and it has held up well, even been left outside a couple of times when DS had it in the playhouse. DD is 9 and her and friends also love to play with it.

We have this Hape wooden one. http://www.amazon.com/Hape-Playfully-Delicious-Checkout-Register/dp/B00712O2LS/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1378916932&sr=8-8&keywords=toy+cash+register

It gets a good amount of play. I like the Learning Resources one though. I miss that mine doesn't actually have a calculator to interact with.

Another vote for Learning Resources. Ours came with pretend money and a pretend credit card I believe.

Definitely learning resources. The play money has come in handy with helping DD learn about counting and exchanging money in K and first.

We have the LR one and it randomly stopped working. It sensed the drawer wasn't closed and wouldn't function with it open, even though it was closed! Annoying. Anyhow I called them and they were very nice and sent a brand new one to me. This was about 8 months after we got it. Just want to vouch that it's a good purchase!
