What is the ballpark range you'd expect to pay to paint 1050 sf (LR/K/2BR/2BA/halls)? This includes all walls, plus all trim in one of the BRs. No ceilings. Paint included (Kelley Moore, if that makes any difference). Trying to determine if what we've been quoted is reasonable. Thanks!

Hard to tell. It's the trim, not the size that takes the time. So a Bathroom can easily take as much time as a big living room with all the edging around doors, baths, vanities. I would hope for something in the 3K range. Anything less and I would be thrilled.

Thank you both, I feel much better now. We were quoted $1900 (and this is an HCOL). It sounded like a lot to me, but I am totally clueless about home maintenance jobs! Thanks for putting my mind at ease.

We had family room, kitchen, hall, playroom, dining room painted, including walls, trim, doors, and ceilings. Probably about 1000 sq ft. It was $2500 6 years ago. I don't know what prices have done since then.

Recently had foyer, living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, powder room, stairwells upstairs and downstairs painted including ceilings. Foyer and LR are 2 story ceilings. 4K including BM paint. Trim was stained and not included in that price.

I would still get another quote. Not that the other quote will be lower, but you might find someone that you like better. My father always said if you had 3 quotes you should usually pick the middle one.

$1900 is CHEAP!!! Our quote was $4000 for our downstairs and two bedrooms and a hallway. We have a post and beam home, though, so there's a LOT of taping!!! Friends who have a much less challenging structure were quoted a similar price for a much larger home. I would actually worry that $1900 was too low. I would have guesstimated $2500-3000.

We got the majority of our house painted plus the ceilings scraped and all paint included for $3200. It also included filling up a square where a wall heater return used to be. I think that $1900 is a great price. Our house is 1200 sq. ft. .

Too much. :) We painted ourselves after getting quotes. Our dining room has tons of trim and they wanted $600 just for that. Nope.

I am glad to hear that we got quoted a good/low price! This is for a condo that we are fixing up to sell, the interior is pretty straight forward (crown only in BRs, LR/K is just one big room). Our agent has used this guy countless times, so we are taking her word for it on this service. If it was for our home, I would probably be more picky, but in this case we just need someone to go in and whitewash the whole place to clean it up.

There's other prep that needs to be done, and it is all adding up to a lot of $$$. We're going to have to go with the cheapest in most cases here.
