A 13 year old 8th grader was struck and killed by a car this afternoon in my town. The name has not been released, but please send out p&pt to the family, and the friends, classmates and teachers who will be dealing with this tomorrow.

Oh no!! Was he riding a bike? If so, I think I just read about it in our local online paper. Tons and tons of P&PT for the family, the school and the whole community.

A 7th grader at DD's middle school was hit by a van that ran a red light; she was biking to school at the time. It was the third day of school. Thank goodness she ended up being fine other than a broken tooth, some bruises, and a cracked helmet.

Oh man, that hits close to home. I have a nearly 13 y.o. 7th grader who's begging for more freedom - he wants to bus + walk home from school. Will definitely be thinking of that family & community.

That was right in front of the house next door to us. We had just moved in about 2 months prior. I was very happy when they put in the stoplight there!
