Our house is a 1970s split entry, very much like this

scroll down to the 1970s split.

We got the exterior painted sherwin williams latte color. It has a black roof and white trim. What color for the door?

I am thinking reds or just white? Any other recos...

Painter is waiting for my decision

Red...I just love red doors and think it would look great with that combination.

We have similar colors and a bright blue door. We get lots of compliments.

I would also do red - not fire engine, but a more muted shade.

Light blues are very trendy right now. They can be really beautiful. I've always loved a red door on a house with a neutral color scheme.

I'd do a green or mustard or a teal (maybe Lagoon?) for a more modern color pop. I don't have my paint fan decks handy. You can always update just the door. :)

Sherwin Williams has a thing on their website where you can upload a picture and play with the color.

My vote is for not red. Can't we be done with red doors already? When we sold our house the realtor initially suggested red--we ended up agreeing on a nice bright green. I really like deep yellow or the right shade of blue as well.

ETA: we used SW 6717 "Lime Rickey" but they had to color match it because it apparently is only an interior color. This was chosen by the interior designer who staged our house. The red she recommended was SW 7590 "Red Obsession".

We don't live there anymore so here it is :)

We have a rich blue and love it. Red can be hard to get right.

We had a deep Kelly green on our last house that we loved.

I would do black or turquoise blue.

I'm thinking a muted teal shade would be cool, but not crazy. I've contemplated that for our house, which currently has a brick red door.

Our house is also Sherwin Williams Latte but we have shutters in Eclipse. I went with a deeper Colonial Blue and I love it. I posted here about my front door and that was one of the suggestions..

If you want a red, check out Benjamin Moore Raspberry Truffle (much deeper red than the name implies!)

We have a black metal door and an East facing house. That bugger gets HOT! If you have a wooden door or don't have a heat problem then I actually like the black. It isn't a statement, but it doesn't show dirt much.

We have a red door that I love. It was originally a hideous café au lait brown color. It just blended right into the brick. Not pretty. Now I love it.

Maybe a forest green? I don't know. I'm terrible at this sort of thing. I think red is a more classic choice, while blue or yellow seem more "trendy"? Our door is black. I don't think I'd have chosen that color, but it's okay. I do think blue would look cool on our house. We have a shake roof and beige with white trim. Good luck with your choice. Pick something that makes you happy!
