DD & i are going on a bit of a shopping adventure tomorrow while daddy is at an all day thing at the library :) we'll be at a mall that has more stores than we are used to , including pottery barn kids. i decided to pre-browse and found this little gem:

http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/elephant-tea-set/?pkey=cgirls-toys&

any way to know if this is a pottery barn exclusive item?

so cute, but 59 dollars? probably a no-go ;) especially since we have a bazillion tea sets :) (i do too...dishes run in the family)

we're heading to tyson's corner primarily for the american girl store, but we'll also hit up hanna andersson, lego store, and pottery barn kids. maybe eat at the mixing bowl and just have desserts at AG place (we have a reservation but not until 2:45!!! mommy didn't plan very well ;))

Target has the same teapot (not the set) in white for $15: http://www.target.com/p/28-oz-elephant-teapot-white/-/A-10491317. You could pair it with any white cups and saucers.

ETA: Here's a different set, same theme: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/blue+and+green+elephant+3-piece+tea+set.do

totally cute alternatives! we're slightly purple crazy though. saw the elephant set today in person and the cups are so cute... *sigh* thankfully, i liked it more than my daughter. so perhaps it will be eventually clearance and while waiting we'll forget it exists ;)

It was up high at our local PBK store, so DD didn't see it. I love it. Not necessarily "I'll totally pay $59 for a miniature tea set" love it, but do love it.

She is currently obsessed with all things "tea party" and has been drooling over the silver one for ages, but seeing as how it's listed online at $69 (!) and has no information about whether or not it's food-safe (feels awfully flimsy IRL, in my opinion) we will not be listing that on the WishList. (I did, however, find a FiestaWare-like tea set for $29-ish in the Montessori catalog ... and also on Amazon, so that one went on the WishList.)
