DSS came home from school with a giant blob of goo. It's not silly putty, exactly, just rubbery, stretchy, goo. Somehow it got stuck to his shorts and all over his shirt. I find them in the laundry basket today, 3 days later. It's semi hardened now, and not so slimy. How do I get this out? Hot or cold? I don't even now what this stuff is to Google it, ha! Any experience? TIA!

I'd start by scraping what you can off with a butter knife. It might also help to harden it further with an ice cube first.

After that I'd probably rub with dish soap like Dawn and soak in warm water, then try the knife again. I've also seen references to using an oily substance like peanut butter to soften gunk but haven't tried it yet.

This was us last school year....I will try and find my posts! I put our in the freezer and scraped as much as I could off unfortunately the shirt was not a flat knit. It was small ribs...I think it's called French rib and very tough material to get the gunk out of the tiny crevises!!! I found out ours was thera putty. Used often by O.T. therapists.

Found it....
