DD needs new tights both for dance and for wearing with dresses and skirts. She does love the feel of tights in general...any recommendations for comfy ones that picky dressers will tolerate? She is 5 and wears a size 5. Thanks!

We like Hanna tights, but my DD has chunky legs and they're cut more generously than the cheapie Circo brand ones I've gotten her, so maybe that's why we prefer those to regular microfiber.

For dance, I don't know if I would buy Hannas, though, simply because I think they would violate the dress code. (Hannas are ribbed cotton rather than microfiber.)

For our dance, we have to get a specific type of tights: footless for modern and jazz, footed for ballet and tap, etc.

Usually we get these: http://www.amazon.com/Capezio-Girls-Stretch-Footed-Ballet/dp/B0037KMI2I/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1381246548&sr=8-6&keywords=dance+tights

or these:

Thanks- maybe I will try some Hanna's for dresses and skirts. I think she dislikes the tightness of the waist band and they way it can dig in so maybe the more generous cut would help that. Our dance is very casual, in the school cafeteria, so they aren't picky- I just need to find something she would not complain about. So far many of the girls including DD have gone without any tights! Would the Hanna's be too thick for the shoes?

Yes, the thick ribbed tights would not work with dance shoes.
