Just got an order from ON and this shirtdress was in it (I paid a whopping $9!) Great deal, but not sure how to make it look right on me....

I actually ordered 2 sizes but the XS regular length was too tight on top. The other one is a petite S, and although I'm only 5'2" I feel like its too short to wear on its own since the sides are shorter than the front and back. DH said it looks like I had on a long shirt and forgot to wear my pants (not that he knows much about style though).

So, I was thinking leggings and boots. I own black, navy, and medium gray leggings. And boots similar to these in black http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1438026/a2-by-aerosoles-sawu-tall-boots-women.jsp,
as well as chocolate brown and black Bearpaw and ON fur lined boots (like Uggs)

Since the dress is a very light chambray, will black leggings and boots work? Maybe paired w/ a wide black stretchy belt? Or leggings and ballet flats? Other ideas?

A quick Pinterest search for Chambray Dress had a ton of cute ideas! It def needs a scarf or cute belt...I would do a cheetah print scarf, or that pretty muted lime-ish green color that's been popular lately. That with those boots you linked are cute. Also, lots of people are mixing brown and black now. Black leggings w brown boots/belt/ and/or bag. You could also skip the leggings, do a cute belt (red?) with some chunky brown wedges.
