View Full Version : ISO winter coat for me--UPDATE 5 & 6
I need a winter coat. Winter isn't all that cold here, but I do spend time outside at practices and games in the wind. Last spring I was dragging out my down jacket. But I'd rather have something longer and not quite as puffy. I actually bought a quilted car coat from Title 9 last spring, but the stitching starting coming loose and I returned it.
I bought a belted LE coat this fall, but the fit is funny on me and it is going back.
What do you think of this one? http://us.nextdirect.com/en/x522136s1#856881
Other suggestions? I'd like to stay under $150.
Thanks!
Catherine

Since you mentioned a quilted car coat, what about this one?

When I read your description, I thought of this one:
http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/womens-low-sky-parka?p=28391-0-303
It meets all your requirements but for price. The problem you may have in finding the perfect jacket in your price range is that the lighter the jacket, the more expensive it is.
I don't love the coat you linked for your purposes. I think it's too dressy to be a sports watching coat and won't look great with casual shoes or pants.
How about this one:

Thank you for the options! The first CK one is sadly a bad length for me as I am pear shaped and it ends at my widest point. The Patagonia one is just too much for my budget right now.
Will definitely be be taking a second look at the rest!

I ordered one from LE but the fit is wonky so it is going back. Nordstrom is having its sale so I ordered this: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/via-spiga-down-feather-coat-with-detachable-hood-online-only/3561526?origin=stylenumsearch
ir that doesn't work out, my neighbor suggested uniglo--anyone have any experience with their down coats?
Thanks,
Catherine
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. I ordered a medium in the brandy color. It is snug fitting, but flattering. The brandy is a really nice color, much nicer IRL than in the picture IMO. It seemed very warm, though I only had it on inside for a couple of minutes.
Thanks,
Catherine
