I picked up some plastic containers (designed to sort beads) from hobby lobby. I got them to store (surprise) and sort rainbow loom bands. I got some multi surface acylic paint pens from michaels to write names on the boxes. Do I need to pretreat the area? Or spray after? Or just do it.

I recently painted character faces on plastic sand buckets for party favors. Everything i read said to use an oil based paint and rough up the surface a little. I tried fine grit sandpaper but it was too rough, so i just used a magic eraser. It was perfect - not shiny and slick, but the surface wasn't marred either. I also switched from paint to Sharpie paint pens. They come in a lot, but not all, colors and worked BEAUTIFULLY! easy to use, and much better results than a paintbrush (very precise at lines, etc).

Thanks for your reply. It is very helpful!

Sharpie paint pens, they sound tempting. Thanks for the magic eraser tip! I will try that.
