Uggs- regular or knit?

I'm getting DD (9) some Uggs, well an off brand of some sort, not sure which ones I'm going with yet. We are in Central Texas so it doesn't get that cold here, so she can't wear boots every day. Are the knit uggs more breathable? She saw a girl at school with them and really liked them, but do they hold up well? What about sizing, is it different than regular uggs?

No knit! They stretch and will sag, and flop all over.

We love in so cal and have had various Uggs for 9 yrs. Our fav are the reg shorts, DD1 and I have short and talls but they come out less frequent. I do prefer the sole on the tall braided pair I have.
