DD will be just shy of 18 months

any must haves for a little girl this age?

i think she'd really love a ride-on car of some sort that we can push. strangely, we never had this type of thing for DS. any specific suggestions for this?

would really welcome any ideas b/c I'm feeling like we've got so many toys already from DS, but I'm sure there must be some stuff that would be great for her that I'm missing

thanks!

The ILs got DD a PBK Anywhere Chair and we got DD a teddy bear for her 2nd Christmas.

We also gave her a basic bucket of DUPLO.

What kinds of things does she seem to have an interest in? I'm sure a ride-on would be wonderful - mine would have loved that, but I don't want to store the darn things, so they never went onto her WishList!

I don't know but I will be subscribing to this thread because we have LL (Little Ladies) about the same age and I am stumped about what to get her for Christmas this year.

(Matter of fact I don't have many good ideas for DS this year and he is turning 5 three days before Christmas).

At that age my DD loved to push baby dolls in a little stroller. I think we got her a toy kitchen around then too.

yes, this is the kind of thing she is coveting from our friends around the corner - thanks!

we have a toy kitchen and she does love it

also have a doll stroller and doll from DS, but they're both rather "boyish"...maybe i get her a new doll.

she doesn't seem to love dolls though

have to look up a wheely bug - don't know what that is

ETA: Lindsey, i don't have any good ideas for DS either - separate post!!

I have the older version of the pushcar and DS does like it....better than the stroller. It's just so bulky to fit in the car and we don't have side walks so it gets pushed around the yard most of the time.

I think doll stroller is a must-have for that age, or maybe a grocery cart. She isn't really too little for Corolle Calin or Tidoo.

I really wanted to get the small wheely bug for DS this Christmas but then I found a Pillow Racer at the thrift store so I'm going with that instead.

I was going to say toy kitchen since that's what DD will get, but I see you have one. Maybe an assortment of play food, pots and pans, tea set, etc? Or a toy shopping cart, DD goes crazy over those.

The little Tikes Cozy Coupe was a big hit with DS, not technically a push ride on, but it lasts longer then the push ones. My kids also liked the Step 2 push buggy, we don't have it but nieghbors do and they lend it to us on occasion.

DD loves, loves, loves her Corolle Tidoo doll.

oh yes, grocery cart - GREAT idea!

and cozy coupe...could i keep that in the garage? if so, than that's a good possibility.

thanks!!

Yes, you can keep it in the garage.

thanks!

for wheely bug - assuming size S is what is appropriate at this age? will they outgrow really fast?

Yes- my daughter loved her Calin at that age (and still does at 5) and had a grand time pushing her around and packing things in the stroller/cart. we had both and both got daily play!

DD2 is about the same age as your DD.

We have a cozy coup which we keep in our shed and DD2 does like that a lot. Her big gift from Santa is a Bitty Baby but that is mostly because that is what we are getting DD1 and DD2 is the fairness police. I am getting them everything exactly the same to avoid fighting. They are also getting new nap blankets for Hannukah, and the Christmas gifts from us are the pottery barn sleeping bags with the animal head pillows (that sounds gross typed out, but they are cute). Other bigger things I considered were:

This picture for her room: https://www.etsy.com/listing/121003069/animal-map-of-the-world-map-for-children?ref=favs_view_8
This diaper bag for her dollies: http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/doll-diaper-bag/?pkey=gthmagefou&

She also is really into playing dolls, dress up, art so anything like that would be fun. When DD1 was that age, her big gift was http://www.amazon.com/Step2-Naturally-Playful-Folding-Slide/dp/B001639Q50/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1383143417&sr=8-3&keywords=Little+Tykes+slide and both girls still play with it a lot.

If you get a Push Buggy, get the Whisper one, it's supposed to be quieter then the regular, and the regular is loud!

We have a Large Wheely Bug, DD2 can get on it but not push herself around, DD1 usually pulls her on it. DD1 still plays with the Wheely Bug. I'd opt for a Large, the Small is really small.

My DD got that PBK diaper bag (that BabyBearsMom linked to) around that age too and it is still loved today at 5.

DD's big Christmas gift for that age was a toy kitchen. I see you that you already have one though. She really loves her M&D cutting food, if that helps.

As for a ride-on toy, I *highly* recommend the Step 2 Easy Steer Sportster: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12835662. It has a caster wheel up front, so it turns on a dime! It's so nice! You can also unscrew the handle bar, so that it's more compact for transport. I especially liked that the seat is generously sized compared to most ride-ons.

:yeahthat: We have the regular one, and it is super loud, but our neighbor has the whisper one, and it is SO much better. DD really loves hers. You could also do one of the tricycles that has the push handle. That would actually grow with her.

We are getting DD a play kitchen, and my sister is getting her a shopping cart. Everything else I'm sure will be accessories for the kitchen. My DD isn't into dolls either.

The Easy Steer Sportster was at Costco for $49.99 today. Great deal!

If I had an 18 month old DD, I'd be getting the Fisher Price Little People Klip Klop pony thing that I keep seeing ads for:

Yeah that, just substitute 15 month old and 4 yo. I'd go with the small.

My 5 year old DD (who loved LP when she was between 1-4), just saw that at Target and said she would have loved that "when she was little" and then played with the display for a few minutes. :)
