Yes, happy Diwali / Deepavali to all who celebrate it. DS and I went to Chinese Lantern Festival in Dallas, and next to that was the Diwali Festival. DS said that it looks fun! :-) There were lots of people and children.

Yes, Happy Diwali/Deepavali! We celebrated with close friends, after a couple weeks of festivities :)

Happy Diwali to you too! We celebrated quietly this year and skipped the parties... Just rangoli on the front porch and candles everywhere. :)

Happy Diwali! Our neighbors put up lights and did firecrackers! They also did chalk stencils on their front porch. I would love to learn more about these traditions. Could you recommend a book or website? Thanks!

Happy Diwali! I actually got around to lighting diyas (about 50) this year and the house looked so beautiful.

We're celebrating at work on Thursday. I think that is late, but since many of the employees that celebrate take the day off, we usually do it after the fact, plus then we can use their decorations.

Happy Diwali to you! Our neighbors invited us to their party over the weekend, it was great fun! blowing off fireworks in NNE in October, gotta love it!

How lovely to hear all the Diwali celebration stories. We had quite a few friends over - the kids made rangoli, we did pooja, lit up the whole house and the driveway with flameless candles. It was great!

Sounds lovely. We did get to make rangoli before the wretched bug hit...and I have pounds of food in my freezer from a huge dinner I made for friends and family that had to be canceled... I want to know about these candles...sounds awesome!
