I'm 5'2" too and regular boots in the women's section have always been fine height wise.

I'm 5'2" too. I have on a pair with a 15.5" shaft height today. When I sit the hit the crease in the back of my knee, but they don't bother me at all because the leather is soft. When I was pregnant with DS2, I tried on the tall Hunter boots. I couldn't walk in them because it was so painful when it hit the back of my knee. I was also super swollen at the time so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Other than that I haven't had any other issues with tall boots.

I'm just barely 5'2" (I round up a bit, LOL!) and just bought these with a 15" shaft and they are super comfy. I thought they might feel funny along the back of my knee when sitting but I wore them to church on Sunday for 2.5 hrs. and no problems at all. I also have a pair of A2 tall black boots from Kohls (from last season) that aren't quite as tall and also very comfy.

Thank you ladies....I just bought a pair of Tommy from Piperlime this afternoon taking advantage of the 40% of and additional 25% off deal. It's 14.5 inch shaft. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good fit.

Just wanted to say thanks for mentioning Piperlime. I'm going to order these (http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=52781&vid=1&pid=944561002) now!
But, where is the additional 25% off? - nevermind, I found it in the Bargains! Thanks!

I think a 14" or 14.5" shaft is just perfect for a tall boot for a petite woman.

I do fine with that height and I'm 5'2.5". I do have longer legs and a shorter torso.

Bumping because I must have been delusional when I posted upthread. I haven't shopped for tall boots in 2-3 years but want new ones now. Almost every pair at the stores were too tall. I can't figure out how to filter online for 14" shafts. :( Couple that with my skinny calves and I am failing big time on my boot hunt. I've invested too much time online and in person lately on this quest. eta- the pair I have now is a Steve Madden slouch pair.

I picked these up for 130 in Fawn a few weeks ago (not pictured right now, basically a slight variation on dark brown), and they are not too high at all on me (5'2.5", but longer legs/shorter torso).

I was hoping they'd work with jeans and skirts/dresses, but they are a little big in the calf for me to wear with tights. They work fine with skinny jeans. Shaft height has been fine with wiggle room.
