The pom poms were a HIT!

I just wanted to share that instead of going crazy on sensory bins because I'm too busy right now I bought three bags of pom poms at Michael's the other day (two sizes, different color groups) for the Miss.

I poured them into a big, light stainless bowl this morning with a plastic cup, a big spoon, a funnel and a scoop (measuring cup) and she was enthralled!!! We broke them out twice this morning (she is home from daycare with a cold) and I am totally thrilled with the result. Must have been over an hour of fun for her and calm for me!! :applause:

I've heard that dried beans make good sensory "toys" too, but your DD may be a bit young for those right now (choking hazard).

What kind of sensory toys are you looking for? I have some suggestions, either from personal experience with DD, or items that I considered purchasing for DD (many you can make, too).

we love pom poms! the dollar store has a pretty big bag for a dollar. try adding an egg carton and some tongs or tweezers for a new challange. also sorting by size or color (or both) into cups or the egg carton is fun.
