Layering question

I have a sweater with a hood and deep v-neck. Will it look funny if I wear a button down shirt underneath because of the hood that falls behind?

I am fashion challenged :(

I wouldn't layer a collared shirt under a hoodie in favor of a plain round neck or turtleneck/mock turtleneck.

I think the hood makes the neckline busy enough without adding more to it.
