Cutting Off Contact w/ Family Member?

Has anyone cut off contact with a family member, specifically one who lives close to you? Would you be willing to chat privately about it? I'm looking for advice, but only from people who have BTDT.

BTDT, however, thankfully, the family member doesn't like nearby any longer. Not easy, and family doesn't "get" it (especially when I'm refusing to speak bad about her), but 100% worth it to save DD from the toxic person. In short, the person is always right, very stubborn, and believes I'm harming DD by letting her call me "mom" pre-adoption. Because, you know, after 7 years, apparently I'm not her mom. Whatever. Even her birthmom calls me her mom, lol. But, not worth having her speak like that to DD!
