Anyway, I'm looking for a way to spruce up current staples, so I'll likely be in the market for a new lavender or orchid colored sweater.

I wish I could find all-leather boots to fit my wide calves - most "wide calf" boots I've found are either pleather (which smells like gasoline) or part elastic, so they kind of defeat the purpose of having something sleek & sexy.

I really would love to have something FABULOUS for Christmas, but I'm not feeling so fab lately, so it's hard to shop.

Wide calf does not mean no boots! I have really big calves (even more so since I started jogging). I highly recommend zappos for this. Here are a few that might feel a little sexy:

I've looked at Zappos in the past and when I fall in love with a boot I read the reviews, which have been really discouraging - the main complaints have been cheap construction, narrower than advertised, and colors not displaying correctly on folks' monitors.

I stopped looking because it broke my heart.

My favorites have been Fitwell brand and Ros Hommerson.... both of those come in extra extra wide shaft. I ordered two pairs of boots in Jan., 2012. I ordered a 10W and a 10WW. The WW was too wide and I have an 18" calf. I think the W was perfect, but I think I needed a 9.5 W instead and I never reordered. I ordered what was then the Oregon boot, but what I think is now very similar to the Finley boot.

I've rented from them twice before with no issues. Once for a wedding and again for DH's work Xmas party last year. They dry clean everything when you return it and I'm sure part of the cleaning fee is in the price so a regular little dribble of food wouldn't be a problem. I haven't really thought twice about it really. I'm usually only in the dress for a few hours. I only get dressed up like 3 times a year and don't want to wear the same thing over and over again so I really like RTR!
