Just out of curiosity - when did you give up the big V card?

Poll!!!

I was one week shy of turning 21. Considering I didn't really start dating much until I was 19 so just over a year before it came kind of quick, but I was ready.

I will add I was 18, with my high school boyfriend, whom I adored. He was a fantastic guy and such a sweetie :)

To my first college boyfriend. it was probably a month or so after my 20th birthday. In my dormroom, on the top bunk. LOL

I was 16, just a month before my 17th birthday. Yikes. I was young and stupid. I wised up and called off our engagement two months before the wedding.

DH was... 21, I think? With me. His first kiss, even. Boy, do I hate myself for that.

On my 17th birthday, the summer before senior year of high school.

Way too young. I was 16, and had no self esteem. Somehow I thought that would help. It didn't. I made mistakes, grew up, learned a lot. It played a big role in shaping who I am today, but I don't recommend it! :)

18... I was a freshman in college and it was with my hs boyfriend in his dorm room. We dated for 7 years and became engaged when I was 24. I broke it off (a little less than the wedding date). I am REALLY glad we didn't end up together!

16 to a guy that ended up being a total jerk but I had been in love with for 3 years. I waited many years after that before I was with anyone else.

I was 20 and a senior in college. It was to my now-DH. I was married by 21 (almost 22). We will hit 18 1/2 years in about a week.

I was 17 (about to be 18) and it was with now-DH (was his first time as well). No regrets ;)

College boyfriend, I was 19. First thing in the morning, waited for my room roommate to go make coffee so we could have a tiny bit of privacy. Sounds so tacky now...

I was 18 and a freshman in college, his place. Sweet guy, but totally wrong for me! (We stayed in touch through mutual friends & now message each other every now & again on Facebook.)

24! i didn't date at all in high school and not much in college either. No "moral" reason or whatever, I was just a geek and 100% focused on studying. i was in grad school when i had my first boyfriend (not my DH). we went out for 1.5 years and i would have likely married him had he not had so many major issues (commitment-phobe, for one). i 'm soooOooo glad I didn't. i broke it off and few months later I met DH when we were 26, and been with him ever since! :)

My story is very similar. But I was 23. Other details are identical (didn't date in college, met boy in grad school and dated 1.5 years, commitment phobe, met DH at age 26. But I had another boyfriend sandwiched in between.)

We have been together for almost 13 years and married for 8.5 years.

OK, well I had to vote "wait...Vasectomy?" because after reading the poll title and the OP it took me FOREVER to figure out what "V" meant! LOL! Anyway, 21 for me, with DH. Never dated anyone else prior. Yes, I did not get out much as a teen/young adult.

I was just shy of 20. Dated for 9 months and at the time thought I could marry him. It was a big decision for me as I always thought I would wait til I was married. No regrets though. He really got me to live again as I had a really tough time as my best friend in college had died suddenly a few months before I met him. DH was my only other.

Just turned 18 to XH. Highly regret - think lack of experimentation forced me to settle too soon.

I'm boring. I lost it when I was a freshman at college with my bf, who is now my dh. Yes, he is my one and only.

19. Three weeks into our relationship. We got engaged a few weeks later. I broke the engagement off, twice, once at 19, and again at 30.

It was "perfect" for who we were at that age. Young, inexperienced, geeky, in his bedroom, with his parents next door, lots of the typical fumbling around, but full of love and laughter and passion.

Wow--I am amazed at how young some folks were when they got married!! I was 35. I wasn't ready till I was 30. Needless to say, there were a number of boyfriends between 18 when I was with my HS boyfriend and 33 when DH and I got serious.

Guess I'm the youngest willing to admit it ... I was 15 to exDH. We were rather mature for our ages and always used good birth control. I don't regret it.

Took 2 years after he left to try it with someone else. Now that took more thought than losing my V card!

I totally misread at first. I thought you were referring to your virginity...how you weren't ready until 30 but waited until 35. I was thinking...wow, that's insane!

I didn't date in high school. I turned 18 shortly after starting college and decided to see what all the fuss was about with my first boyfriend. There were a few between him and DH.

Two weeks before my 16th birthday. We were together several months before and a couple years afterward-- no regrets-- until I saw this guy on Facebook recently. Being cool for a living clearly wasn't a good life choice.

Uh, that would be a no  I guess I just was looking at how some people could wait till they got married cuz they got married so young. I realize some people wait till they are 30+. Not this girl, no. ;)

Sorry to bump this but I just saw a show in which a first-time bride was 45 years old and had saved herself for her husband. I just thought that was incredibly special and wanted to share!

I was 18, going into my sophomore year in college, away for a summer job in the mountains. It was with a cute guy I was having a fling with. I was ready to lose it - it was fun! No regrets, it was on my terms and I was ready.
