I like the Duckhorn wines. They have a good Merlot for around $50.

I'd get a nice Barolo vintage 2007, 2006, 2004, or 2001.

Doing the happy dance! I :heartbeat: Duckhorn Merlot! I have never seen it rec'd ever, but I love it.
Grgich Hills, Jordan, and Flora Springs are all nice reds as well. Rodney Strong is also nice and not as expensive as the others.
Anything with a 2007-2008 vintage should be really drinkable now, but price wise you might be closer to 2009 now.
Oh gosh....I LOVE WINE and have NEVER spent more than $15. In France our goal was to find the cheapest and yummiest. :) I've had $20 bottles that are horrid compared to a $7 bottle. I sooo would LOVE TO TRY A $50 bottle that is yummy and worth $50. I aspire to try that Duckhorn! :)

I also love Duckhorn wines! We went to the vineyard and tasting house a few years ago on s trip to Napa and it's beautiful. We bought home a few bottles of their Paraduxx blend which is also very good.
