DS, age 4, has requested a "robot that does something" for Christmas. I can't find anything in stores, so I've searched Amazon. It seems that there are only a few options:
Cogsley, which seems to babyish, it think.

Mr. Robot Disc Shooting Robot, which doesn't get great reviews:

Robosapien, which is probably too complicated for a 4-yr old.
http://www.amazon.com/WowWee-Robosapien-Humanoid-Remote-Control/dp/B000161RFA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385871708&sr=8-1&keywords=robosapien

There's also a mini robosapien, which walks, but doesn't seem to do much else. But still, it would technically fulfill the request.

Not sure what the best option would be, or maybe there is a better idea that I'm missing?

One of my boys asked Santa for a robot (I think he was 6). He got the second one on your list. It has actually lasted, four years and counting, but not sure how helpful that is since it's not a recent purchase.

I think the first one, Cogsley, would be appropriate for a 4yo.

My son asked for a robot for his 4th birthday, and we got him the robosapien. He cannot make it do all the moves, but he is able to work it. He loves it.

Hmmm, I wouldn't have guessed I'd get one vote for each option. I'm still not sure which one to choose, but thank you for your thoughts. :)

Kohls has had some great deals on Robosapian. I got it for $37 when they had the stacking codes.

Wow. $37 is an awesome price. I just bought it at Kohls for $56, with free shipping, which is a pretty good price.

I did post it at the time, but nobody seemed to bite. I thought maybe it was a toy flop that I just didn't know about or something. Sorry, guys!

Wow! I would have bought it for that too! It was on Target.com for $56 but I hesitated. Ugh. :(

No worries, and thanks for posting! Not a toy flop, just a missed deal in all the madness (at least for me).
