I interviewed for a job I really want a couple of weeks ago. It is a job I really want; it would really be very positively life changing in many ways. I asked about what the process/timeline would be, and the main person replied that they would be doing 2nd interviews but they would not be before Thanksgiving. Okay, so I am left with the general impression that if I get a 2nd interview, I should hear soon---maybe I should have even heard already since its the week after Thanksgiving. Basically, anything is possible. I already may be out of the running for the job or I may be called for a 2nd interview. It is so hard not to know!
Yes, I know there are practical reasons why HR/hiring committees can not always give and comply with timelines, but it sure is hard on this side of things!
