Baby doll as big sister gift different than gift from new baby?

I have a new baby doll and a big sis shirt for DD, and I was planning on those items being the gifts from the new baby. Should the doll be a gift before the baby arrives instead, and then I would get something else from the baby?

I'm probably over thinking things.

I'd do the shirt before the baby arrives andthe baby doll from the baby :)

Then she can announce the baby and get excited for her arrival. (Or at least that's how it worked for my son)
