Hottest is somewhere around 115, which was a high one summer in Sacramento and that broke a previous record of 112.

The coldest and I only heard it on the radio was 17 with a windchill factor of -4, that was at 4 am after I had left then DBF at his house after we had gone out to a club or something right before Christmas. Other than that in 1990 when I was 13 the day we got out for Christmas break it was 12 degrees in the shade per a thermometer outside one of the classrooms. Both times it has gotten that cold it didn't snow. I was kind of bummed out about that.

For hot, probably around 115 or so. Not sure. I'm from Southern California and have been through Arizona and Nevada in the summer.

For cold, we had windchill of -35, (-17 without windchill), the year I was pregnant with DS. That was here in Iowa in January, 5 years ago. I had to walk pretty far from my car to work. Not fun.

For hot, probably just over 100.

For cold it was about -29 F in January 1994 in Wisconsin. That was without the windchill.

Hottest was probably around 105 with high humidity in Florida in July. I hate that kind of weather.

Coldest...not sure. I think I've seen -10 actual temp with lower windchills, but I'm not 100% sure. Right now is giving it a run for it's money though!!

Hot: 100 with high humidity. It's like being stuck inside a humidifier. And not in a good way.

Cold: Not sure. For most of my life, I thought that it was the -6 F from January 1986 that made it an adventure to get to school. (I can still see myself in my mind's eye, stumbling through plowed snowbanks in my knee socks & mauve London Fog full-length quilted coat with toggle buttons & a hood.) HOWEVER, the winter of 1993-'94 was likely much colder!

Today, the base temperature when I left the house was 15; it's expected to be about that cold tonight. Also, in my area, they no longer announce "wind chill" but rather "real feel."

Currently (2pm EST), it's mid-20s with a "real feel" of 15. Yeah, that's about right.

Hot, probably just over 100 F. Cold, close to -30 F, without wind chill.

Hottest - I think around 42C (108F)
Coldest - Probably around -40C(-40F) with the windchill. Doesn't happen often but you certainly don't want to be outside for long when it's that cold.

-60 in Minnesota in 1996. Hottest 103 in Minnesota. Minnesota summers got hotter than Miami. LOL. Worst climate ever for me. Too extreme for me.

That sounds absolutely awful. Hottest has to be above 110 the summer DS1 was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I thought he was drinking a lot because he was hot...

Coldest? I'm unsure. I went to school in Utah so I'm sure it was cold then. The coldest I've ever FELT was during cold days in High School. I seriously doubt it was below 32 (we had citrus fields around our school) but the breeze from the ocean coupled with the fact that all the classrooms opened to the outside meant that I wasn't warm all day and didn't have the right clothes for that kind of weather!

Hottest was the year we lived in Texas - somewhere in the 100F range with 100% humidity. Coldest is here in Canada - minus 40F (which is the same as minue 40C, conveniently). It wasn't so bad. Honestly, the heat killed me more. I can dress for cold but there is a limit to how many layers I can undress legally ;)

I don't pay that much attention to the numbers. I'm sure I've been in 103 degree heat a lot, but I have no idea on the hottest ever. Maybe 110. Coldest would have to be one of the times when I was up in northern Scandinavia, but it's all celcius there so I don't even bother asking the temp. It was somewhere below zero F though.

Hottest- 111F two days in a row. July 2012 in Kansas
Coldest- -42F Dec 24, 1983 in Montana.

Around 108 (but that was air temp and did not factor in miserable humidity) and -8 or -10 with a ridiculous windchill. I remember they canceled school for a few days! We lived in the south and no one had that kind of cold weather gear.

I've been in temperatures just over 120 several times. My hometown is considered the hottest city in the US (at least according to Wikipedia). Lowest temps just below zero. I don't think I've ever experienced -10, but I've definitely been in subzero weather. It wasn't my hometown!

Coldest in Manitoba for Christmas. -20 something? We had the great plan to go to one of those outdoor walking Christmas light things. We literally RAN from the car to the restaurant in the park. Once inside we got hot chocolate and no one wanted to leave, lol! I do not remember one single thing about those lights.

Hottest in Arizona in August. 120? But, Texas in August can be far worse. 115 with wicked humidity.

I like 75 and sunny with very little variation!

Cold: -20 for a few weeks. I was out and about in the weather (in my 20's) and didn't mind it too much. Now I would freeze.
Hot: Around 110. I do not do well in heat.

For hot, probably just over 100.

For cold it was about -29 F in January 1994 in Wisconsin. That was without the windchill.

It was -35F with the windchill. I was in Milwaukee that winter and remember it distinctly as the heater in my apartment broke and the landlord wouldn't answer my calls.

I was in Wisconsin then and we had our final exam week. We had 2 "snow days" because it was too cold to go to school. Windchills were near -60!! I think that was as cold as I have been around. It was too cold to do anything outside!

Hottest...definitely Kuwait/Iraq in the summer...near 132 I think. Although some high humidity days in central Tx and lower Alabama can almost rival those temps!

Summer of 2011 my car said 111. It was sitting in the sun. I am sure the real temp was 105 or so. Can't deal with heat. Coldest had to be January 2009, where it was -17 without windchill. I only remember that because I had two four month old babies and ds1's preschool had pipes break due to the cold, causing significant damage. Two babies and a crazy two year old and we couldn't leave the premises. I was ready to pull my hair out.

121ยบ on 7/28/95 in Phoenix, AZ. I was there for a mission trip with my youth group. Coldest? I have no idea. It's been snowy here the last few days, and a few times over the last 12 years we've had weeks where we never made it above freezing. However, nothing sticks in my mind as the "OMG It's freezing!" moment. Now, that hottest day? I remember that clear as if it happened today. That was freaking hot, even in the AC. (Looking back, I wonder if that was the first hint of my future MS. One sign of MS is heat intolerance, and for a healthy 16yo, I took that heat worse than most of the other kids on that trip.)

Cold was -60 in 1996 for me too - I was just over the MN border in Wisconsin. Brutal winter, I had just moved there.

Hot was 113 in MI, although I have no idea what the VA or FL highs were when I was a kid.

Hot, probably 103ish.

Cold, probably -25, plus windchill. Edmonton. It would "warm up" to -10 during the day. We don't visit in February anymore. ;)

I'd say the hottest I can remember might be around 105 or so. That would be here in New England, though I did go to Florida in July/August as a child so it was hot there but it was probably more humidity?

Coldest would be around -15 or so. Without windchill. Honestly, once it gets into the single digits its just really cold and I dont really feel the temp matters much anymore!

122 on June 26, 1990. It was the hottest day in Phoenix history. The planes were all grounded. I was working for a real estate company and we were going through some new listings - vacant, repossessed homes with no power. It was awful! For the coldest, it was probably -1 or so in Flagstaff when I was in college.

-45 actual temperature and 122 F, both in places where I was living. Below about -10 and above 110, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference. At least it was a dry heat and dry cold!

-35 - ski trip to New Hampshire got down that low one night and we had a 10 minute walk to the main building in it.

112 - August trip to Vegas. It wasn;t so much that high that got me, it was being 98 at 11 pm on the strip.

That week i had 112 in Vegas with 0% humidity and 89 in Puerto Rico with 100% humidity and i can say with complete authority that both are really uncomfortable!!!! (i used to travel a lot for business)

115? In the shade. I think it was summer of 89. My family lived in the San Fernando Valley at the time. Man it was hot.

Coldest? I think it was -15 two winters ago. Same year I started running in the winter. I remember one year it was 4 degrees on a run. Good times.

That is what I keep trying to tell friends of ours that live in Seattle.

Hottest... 122 F (July of 1990)

Coldest... 22 F (January 2007) this one might actually be colder one of the times we went skiing when I was younger, but these are the noteworthy temps I can

remember.

What kills me here is dressing for the winter because the temperature swings so wildly. Just last week when I left for work with DD it was 31 F out, but it warmed up to the low 60s.

The warmest winter gear we own here is a hoodie. :hysterical:

125 in the shade. We were living in Iraq at the time. That was a normal summer day.

I don't know the coldest but somewhere in the -10 to 10 range while visiting Maine.

Hottest: probably 117 at a wedding in July in the valley (San Fernando Vally in So Cal). My makeup melted off my face. Ick.
Coldest: -2 in China in December plus whipping wind.
