Renovating a childhood dollhouse??

My grandparents made me a dollhouse when I was 9. Although I played with it a ton, I wish I appreciated it more, as all I wanted was my repeated-Santa-List item...the Barbie Dreamhouse. :( Anyhow, DD1 was never a doll kind of girl. DD2 loves dolls so the dollhouse was finally relocated with us and resides in my girls' room...completely neglected. :( So...in a last-ditch effort to give it some love, I want to take out the old 70's vibe and give it some new life. Pink...Purple...Sparkles... Any BTDT advice?? I do not have the garage space as our garage is currently our storage room. The renovation might have to take place over time in the girls' room, as it is the largest space. Help? I have lost my craftiness. TIA!

Oh what a great idea!!! I just Googled "renovating an old dollhouse" and there are soooo many really cool ideas!

I actually don't have an old dollhouse, but one of the things I saw was someone who painted a plain wooden dollhouse and the plain wood furniture to make it more fun and interesting. I think it's a great way to keep an older girl interested in her house.

Many people use wallpaper, but I have read that a lot of people use scrapbook papers instead with good success. It doesn't last as long, but it is a lot easier to work with.

Beth, thanks for the confidence boost!! I was thinking of using our huge pad of AG scrapbook paper as wallpaper...I am glad there are resources out there to guide me!!

Ohhhh...COOL!! :) Which paint?? Is this a garage project that requires tons of ventilation?? Would love to see the finished product!! You have inspired me!
