Talk to me about Furby

DD tells me today all the kids in her class have one and she wants one for Christmas.

I got to admit- I know nothing about them.

How do I choose? Are they all the same except for the color?

My mom has my original furby. I thought he was evil even as a child. He has never had new batteries and still occasionally talks. I hate him so much. She keeps it because she thinks it's evil is funny.

My father got one for DD last year. She was very confused about its purpose (the look on her face was WTF is this thing) and we exchanged it for craft supplies. Thank goodness she's a rational being.

Don't do it!!!! I cannot believe that someone brought that damn furby trend back. It was bad enough the first time around! They are super annoying, I never even wanted one as a kid and never understood the appeal.

My toddler loves toys that talk but he is absolutely terrified of furby.
