Gift for substitute teacher?

DD's kindergarten teacher has been out for about 6 weeks (we were told it was a family emergency). She is supposed to be back after the holiday break. We've had the same sub this whole time. Would you give the sub a gift?

If DD likes the sub, sure! I bet she'd be thrilled to be thought of at the holidays. $5-$10 GC?

When I was in 5th grade one of my teachers was out for quite a while for surgery and I remember my Mom did gifts for both the teacher who was out and for our long term sub. I think that if you normally give teacher gifts it would be very nice to give a small gift to the sub.
