View Full Version : Healthy alternatives to Nutrigrain bars?
These are becoming a goto breakfast on weekday mornings. I would prefer something similar with less sugar and a good source of fiber. I am open to making something myself, as long as it isn't too hard to make. I am a terrible cook. TIA!
ETA: It would be for DD, not me.

My kids like Larabars. Short ingredient list, lots of protein. You can also make them yourself from recipes online.

we have started doing the Larabars too.
And i hear you on the Nutrigrain bars. used to give them to my kids a lot, and DH likes them but i cringe over the ingredient list and all the sugar.
i noticed Sprouts has these Raspberry vanilla bars that are individually packaged and seemed more fresh (they are in that bulk packaging), so we buy those.

If you are talking about for yourself, I would get a good quality protein bar. I like the Pure Protein brand ones for me. They keep me going for several hours and I like them a lot. Or what about something like this: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/01/baked-oatmeal-with-blueberries-and.html

Whole foods 365 Cereal Bars have better ingredients than Nutrigrain Bars. Same type of thing.

My 4 yo has eaten the Clif Kid Z Bar, Earth's Best cereal bar, Plum Organics Grammy Sammy, Happy Baby Super Toddler Bar. We are somewhat limited by having to avoid nuts/seeds. If your DD can have those, you might try 18 Rabbits Jr, they have a good ingredient list.
