View Full Version : Bottles and nipples for feeding breastmilk?

Does the type of bottle and nipple really matter when introducing bottle feeding (of BM) to a breasted baby? We're getting ready to start one or two bottle feeds a day for DD2. I had been planning to use either the playtex drop ins or born free bottles that I already have from DD1. Would a bottle/nipple system specifically "designed" to mimic the breast be a better option?

My ped and LC recommend the drop ins if they work. I am using the skinny dr browns with DD2 because they are the only ones she can get fluid from. We have had no problem going back and forth.

We have always used Playtex drop ins. They were recommended by an LC when DD1 was a newborn.

I got the same advice about the Playtex drop ins from my LC when I was having lots of issues with BFing with DD and had to pump. They worked well for us.
