I am getting more serious about working out and none of my t-shirts are cutting it. I do group classes 3x/week at least, including yoga, strength training, and boot camp style workouts. Whenever I bend over or lift my arms up, my belly or lower back are showing. Ugh. I wear only short sleeve shirts, no tank tops or long sleeves. I wear an XL or occasionally a 1X in plus sizes. I have a long torso. I would like a fit that is close to the body, not baggy. I would love a brick & mortar store so I can try on (online is OK if they have free returns), and not too expensive. Sorry if I'm picky, but I'm desperate for longer shirts!

Which brands/styles are you wearing that are currently too short?

I know this is not what you are looking for, but I wear Men's tee shirts on the 2 days I feel I need a longer shirt at the gym. I just bought 2 cheap v necks at TJMax and sized down 1 or 2 sizes so they fit close (or maybe they are trim fit, I don't know, but they fit close and aren't boxy).

I'm 5'10" and I find my Brooks running shirts to be plenty long for when I'm in a class and raise arms, etc.
I picked up a few new ones last week on sale on their website but they are sold at B&M too.

Thanks! I've never tried that brand and the price is right.

Costco has exercise tanks by Kirkland which are very long in the torso. They safely come down over the hips and they don't move.

I would check out Target -- Champion has a huge line they make for Target and I bet you could find something which works for you.

Mostly Target brand C9 and Champion, Hanes, wal-mart, whatever is cheap.

I have a few of the cheap soft stretchy tanks from Old Navy (like these: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=99087&vid=1&pid=251943202) that I wear under tops I think might ride up. It works well in the winter for the group classes I go to, but might be a little warm for summer depending on how climate controlled your gym is.

I'm tall, 5'9", and I like my shirts from Old Navy. I really like the mesh tops (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=53934&vid=1&pid=333351362). They are comfy, they come to my hips so there are a few inches of space before any body parts show.

That's what I am wearing now! Cheap target green one.

But the Zella brand is SUPER good quality and longer.

Old Navy for the win! I went yesterday and they were on sale for $10 each so I bought 3 in pretty colors. They are so comfy and just the right length. Thanks!
