I have built up a bit of a stash from pumping during the night or right before bed if baby asleep. I have two bottles that are 6 days old. Should I use up the 6 day old bottle tonight and give a 7 day old bottle tomorrow or freeze the older ones today at 5 and 6 days old before they age anymore and give her the newer fresh ones?

If they are in Medela bottles, is that ok to just stick in the freezer or should I transfer to freezer bags? I never had a stash before so am new at freezing!

Thank you! Should I transfer to a bag first or just stick bottle in the freezer?

If you're planning to freeze milk, it needs to be done within the first 24 hours, while it is fresh. You can freeze it in a bottle but it takes a LONG time to thaw out. You can double up zip lock bags if you don't have sterile breastmilk bags. Kellymom (http://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/milkstorage/milkstorage/) has good info.

According to the link on Kellymom, you can freeze breast milk after it has been in the refrigerator for several days, just keep in mind that it might not stay "good" for as long (ie, might not be good for the whole 6 months that's usually recommended for frozen breast milk).
