That was our Valentine's theme this year, and they came out so cute I have to share!

We decorated heart-shaped lollipops with wiggle eyes and felt mustache stickers. There were also glasses and the Groucho Marx-style glasses. (I would have loved to have some say "Don't be grouchy, be my Valentine", but I highly doubt any of the kids would have gotten that.)

The girls really wanted them to say "I mustache you a question: Will you be my Valentine?" and we couldn't find exactly what they wanted on Etsy. So we made our own. The four colors looked a lot different on my monitor - the two darker ones look nearly identical when printed. Also, we had a tough time getting anything to show up on the dark colors and finally had to resort to Sharpie for all of them.

These are definitely my most favorite valentines I've ever made with the kids. (Though the melted crayon hearts are a *really* close second.) I'm thoroughly convinced that there is nothing that can't be made cuter with wiggle eyes and felt mustaches. :) (I even stuck a mustache on DS while he was sleeping - it was exactly the right size for his tiny little upper lip - but before I could get a picture he woke up and was MAD. I'm going to have to try again the next time he's napping, just have the camera turned on before I stick it on so I'm ready to snap away!)

Cute!! DD got some valentines like this and she loved them. But they did NOT have the cute lollipops. (nor did they have a cute baby who was just crying out for a mustache pix :-) )

Cute! I'm feeling somewhat of a slacker after seeing these and some that DDs brought home from school yesterday.....we just did the 2.50 box of Valentine's from Target. Maybe next year.....

Don't! I did the handmade, adorable valentines for years and my dc wanted to buy the cheapo ones from target this year.

I have to be honest - I love seeing how creative other parents get!

But, to anyone who feels inadequate, don't. I bought DD's Valentine's at the Target dollar spot a month ago and called it good. We've been too sick & snowed in to bother with anything elaborate … and, quite frankly, I don't want to make the time to be "crafty" for 17 3- and 4-year-old kids!

Yes, don't feel bad. Some people have a real talent for being creative and making it fun for their kids. I'm not talented in this regard and any attempt at it would not = fun. I love seeing what others can do.

Goodness, I never intended anyone to feel bad! My girls really enjoy making Valentines every year, or we would totally go the Target box-o-goodness route. :) Actually, I had kind of hoped this year that they would, with DS keeping me so busy, but except for printing and cutting out the cards, they did everything else, so it wasn't as big a time commitment for me as it's been in the past. And they love all the cards they get from their friends, store bought or otherwise.

If anyone wants the pdf file I made for next year, I'd be happy to share!

Those are adorable! DS didn't make his this year (for the first time) and said to me last night that he wants to make them again next year. I'm going to PM you for the pdf file - thanks!

I don't think you made anyone feel bad :) I really loved doing it for my dc and wish they still wanted me too!

Thanks for all the comments!

I wanted to share a couple of pictures of DS with the stick-on mustache. Turned out I didn't need to wait for him to nap, he happily let me put the mustache on and take pictures while he was awake. :)

He was super smiley for most of the pictures, but the mustache kept slipping off, and every time I'd touch it to stick it back on he'd make this face. Cracks me up every time I look at it!

He's so cute! It's amazing how hair makes a baby look so much older. My DS is completely bald and looks so much younger than your DS,
