If DD (22 months) is not strapped in to a chair, she eats very, very little. She just gets too distracted. I'd try strapping him in a booster seat and see if that helps.

Also, keep track of his eating over several days, not by meal. If in the course of 5 days he's eaten some protein, some fiber, some fruit/veggies, etc., it's probably okay. You could also check in with your ped and see what a/he says. If you want to bump up calories, put butter on everything!

ETA: DS is 5 and very wiggly and distracted at the table. He gets "pop ups" during meals where he can get up and run around and then come back to the table and sit nicely. He's fine in restaurants, but is wiggly at home. You've got years ahead of the wiggles and not-so-great eating, but don't worry unless there's doctor directed concern. If you're offering healthy choices, your DS will be okay.
