I'm on my phone so I can't link to my Pinterest "party" board but if you search for spy party, you will get a bunch of great ideas. I'll try and link to mine when I get to my computer.

Kelle Hampton did a secret agent party for her oldest daughter's 6th birthday. I found the post by clicking the parties link under "special archives" on the right side of her blog. She goes into great detail with pictures too. It is the 2nd party in list. She posted in Monday, May 20, 2013.

We did a spy party. I had the kids make a badge when they arrived and gave them hats and sunglasses as a disguise. We did a scavenger hunt. It was super fun, and started our annual and much copied tradition of scavenger hunt birthday parties!

We had a fun secret agent party centered around the Birthday Bandit who stole birthday presents. The party was for DS when he was in 1st grade and was one of our most successful/fun parties -- we almost repeated it this year for my DD who is in 3rd grade. (probably would work better for 3rd graders)

Our invitations invited guests to join my son's detective agency and help aprehend the birthday bandit. The invitations were mailed in top secret envelopes. When guests arrived, the presents were placed in the dining room and they were sent downstairs to be processed as agents. My husband works for a city government and was able to get fingerprint cards and id cards. After the agents were processed, they were given a notebook with code information and places to record evident, plastic gloves, and dark sunglasses. While waiting for all of the guests to be arrive and be processed, they played Stare Jr. (an observation game) that we had running via powepoint slide show on a TV.

We invited a local detective to appoint the guests as special agents, give the back story of the birthday bandit, and talk about how to conduct an investigation and collect evidence. My daughter was the bandit; she wore a party dress and a goofy wig. We took her picture and made a wanted poster, which the detective showed all of the special agents. While the guests were learning how to be detectives, my father helped DD steal the presents. DD left a note for the detectives -- which was their first piece of evidence. When the kids came upstairs, they discovered that all of the gifts had been stolen. The taped off the room with crime scene tape and started collecting evidence.

The rest of the party was a scavenger hunt with the guest playing games, solving puzzles, and collecting clues to take them to the next activity. Some of the things we used to make the clues fun were: a note from the bandit written in braille (the notebook had a braille alphabet --- the notebook also had keys for morris code and a number/alphabet replacement code), clues written with invisible ink revealed with a black light, clues written backwards that could be read in the bathroom mirror, clues written on puzzle pieces that were found when balloons were popped, a clue found in the the bottom of an exploding/snake jelly bean can which was wrapped in several boxes that had to be unwrapped via a hot potato type game..... When the kids found and solved all of the clues, they found the presents along with the Birthday Bandit hiding in the fort in our backyard.

For cake, we made a rainbow cake. We had exploding punch by putting pop-rocks in the punch.

We put all of the detective supplies and an Encyclopedia Brown book in evidence bags to send home with the kids as party favors.

I hope you have a great time planning your party. We had a great time at ours.

OK- I'm off my phone. Here is a link to my party board (why yes, DD2 will be having a My Little Pony party this year).
Holidays, Holidays and Parties (http://www.pinterest.com/veronicatoo/holiday-holidays-and-parties/) There aren't as many pins as I thought or the cooler ideas are hidden behind less cool photos but you might be able to find something.

And here are links to some of the ideas that I found:
007 Spy Party (http://catchmyparty.com/parties/007-spy-party)
I love the laser beam obstacle course (http://thebirthdaybasher.com/?p=126). One of the links similar to this suggested using washi tape because it will come down if they touch it while string will just move.

Some ideas have you making an ID card with their spy name (they can make up their own or draw a noun and adjective out of jars) and a photo taken at the party and sending it with the thank you card. You could also give fake mustaches and/or cheap sunglasses as party favors.

Thanks for all of the great ideas! I love the spy names and spy training and missions ideas. I have been looking for a good book as a favor, and I think the Encyclopedia Brown books would be great. I have a lot of planning to do!

Please share any ideas you decide to do. I am getting the passports, glasses, and mustaches at OTP. I am going to make a little secret agent kit for each guest and put them in a treat box.

I like those pens you linked to georgiegirl. They would go great with the spy paper (that dissolves when you put it in water). That could be part of the spy training.

ETA: I might do some clues that have to be decoded. I bought these valentine cards--I plan on cutting off the bottom of the card with the valentines message and just using them for the decoder ring. http://www.orientaltrading.com/secret-decoder-valentine-cards-a2-13627763-12-1.fltr?Ntt=secret valentine
