Disney World deals? Free dining? Etc.

How in the world do you find deals?! Our travel dates are flexible so we'd like to plan when there are deals like free dining or something. We ideally would go during the fall, perhaps November. Where to even begin?! Please help a newbie out!

Sign up for the Mousesavers newsletter and "like" them on facebook so you see all of the deals they find. They are usually on top of any new developments. Also, request the Disney planning DVD to get on their email list and potentially get pin codes.

Disboards has a thread where people leak what is likely to come in the next few weeks in terms of discounts.
We booked without a discount using a travel agent, knowing for our dates in early feb. A discount would likely come out. It did a few weeks later and the agent took care of rebooking everything with the discount.

Please keep in mind although a deal has been offered in the past does not necessarily mean it will be offered going forward. It appears that the deals are becoming less frequent and the amount of rooms offered for that detail have also decreased.
