I'm trying to make an effort to care more about I look like.... but I suck at assembling something that looks "right" and well-coordinated without looking freakishly matchy-matchy. If I never had to see anyone, I would generally live in yoga pants or ill-fitting jeans and whatever oversized t-shirt that's clean. However, more times than not, I throw on the ill-fitting jeans, a tank or fitted t-shirt, cotton (cheap!) cardigan, and infinity scarf. I feel slightly "put together" with this look, but I know there is TON of room for improvement!

DH has said I can spend a bit of money on some new clothes so that I feel better about myself, and I want to make sure that I buy some items that will really help me look/feel good. Now, I'm looking for some real-life fashion inspiration, and I'm thinking a blog (or a FB page?) may be the easiest way. Bonus points if it's it's got plus-size models... I'm an 18, so I wear an XL, but just because it comes in my size doesn't mean it's going to flatter my figure!

Here are a few I learned about here. I'm curious to hear what others suggest too.

http://www.puttingmetogether.com - she has a lot of cute, easy looks with reasonably priced items, lots will translate across sizes

http://girlwithcurves.tumblr.com - plus sized, variety of price points and tends towards more heels and less everyday

http://www.alreadypretty.com - lots of focus on loving your body and highlighting the things you love about yourself, variety of guest bloggers with different body types

Come on over to You Look Fab!
http://youlookfab.com/
Plenty of articles about dressing your shape, figure flattery, putting together outfits, building your wardrobe, fashion trends, and more importantly, a community of "real-life" people of all shapes and sizes (including plus size) who post outfit pics, ask questions, and get advice on purchases, outfits, etc from each other and from Angie, the stylist who runs the website. If you're not sure, you can post things that you are thinking of buying and people will tell you if you should keep or return it. It's very inspiring--the BBB of fashion! I didn't know anything about fashion before I joined a couple of years ago, but now even I have a "fashion blog" on that site: http://goldenpig.lookfab.com/ as do many of the members there. Oh and BTW, I would consider myself "freakishly matchy-matchy"...that's a good thing in my book! ;)

Someone here recently recommended http://www.pinteresttoldmeto.blogspot.com/ and I'm enjoying it. She shops Anthropologie, affordable Nordstrom, etc

Yeah that. She also shops Loft, and there's one in my town! I currently have a wish list from Stella and Dot because of her.

Get Your Pretty On is a great blog for ladies who want to look stylish--but lead real lives and have real budgets. She is hosting a "Spring Style Me" session where you pay $10 and starting April 4th she sends you Spring wardrobe shopping lists and links of items in all price points that mix and match together, along with outfit ideas. I'm really looking forward to it!
