There are multiple kinds of Strider bikes on Amazon? Which one do I want? Are there any deals out there? DD1 potty trained and has stopped asking for treats after going potty. I want to get her a spring present and would like to have it within the next week to 10 days. TIA

The ST-4 is probably the one you want. It's the updated version of the ST-3. From the Strider Bikes website (http://www.striderbikes.com/bikes/st-4), here are the updates:

Sealed Cartridge Bearings are replacing the former cup and cone bearings previously found on the ST-2 and ST-3 models. The new sealed cartridge bearings roll smoothly and are maintenance- free for years of STRIDER riding.

A New Tire Tread Pattern makes its debut this year. The tread is placed closer together for low rolling resistance on hard surfaces, while still providing multiple knobs for all terrain grip improving STRIDER bike handling and stability.

A new Powder Coat Finish replaces last year’s baked enamel paint. The new coating is longer lasting and provides a more durable finish.

Black electrodeposited paint on the ST-4 seat post adds scratch resistance, and the Quick Release clamps are finished with black anodization. Both enhance the sleek STRIDER look and uniform design.

New graphics make their debut on the 2013 footrest and handlebar pad, complementing the racing style of the STRIDER ST-4 bike.

Softer durometer grips for more comfortable feel on toddlers’ little hands.

Other than that, make sure to measure your child's inseam. The Strider only goes up to 16" before you need to purchase the Extra Long Seatpost (http://shop.stridersports.com/Optional-STRIDER-Extra-Long-Seatpost-with-Saddle-Recommended-for-4-Years-Old/productinfo/PSP305SEAT/) (which gives you another 3", up to 19").

I don't know of any current deals. Amazon seems to have the best price. As a side note, I'm deep into balance bike research myself, and have found the website Two Wheeling Tots very helpful. Here's their review of the Strider: http://www.twowheelingtots.com/strider-st-4/?singlepage=1.

Giving a quick plug for balance bikes. We had a Like A Bike rather than a strider, so I'm no help there, but the balance bike idea in general is great and we are so glad we got one for DS. It made the whole learning to ride a bike experience pleasant for all of us.

We Love our Strider! I got it for DS1 when he was 2.5. He STILL plays with it today at 6.5! He never needed training wheels. He calls it his trick bike. It's small for him now, but it's still looks brand new! Great buy. Their CS is awesome too.
