We have the following two sets of BOB books, both of which were purchased off of amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Bob-Books-Set-Beginning-Readers/dp/0439845009/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396625001&sr=8-1&keywords=bob+books

http://www.amazon.com/Bob-Books-Set-2-Advancing-Beginners/dp/0439845025/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396625001&sr=8-2&keywords=bob+books

I have looked at purchasing the sets at Costco, but I think they are different. I was going to order this (http://www.amazon.com/Bob-Books-Set-Word-Families/dp/0439845092/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1396625001&sr=8-4&keywords=bob+bookshttp://) set off of amazon today, but remember the sets at Costco had more for the money.

Has anyone purchased the ones from Costco? I seem to remember the box says it is a collection instead of a set. I tried to get more info off of the box, but couldn't figure out what exactly comes in them.

Thanks!

I have them. The larger ones they get no love here I think they are lame and boring waste of money in my opinion

Ditto! My sons had zero interest in the book. Try the library first, I wish I had.

Once I saw them at Costco I went to the library first to make sure dd would like them... they were not for her so I'm glad I didn't buy them first. I do however hear that some people like them so if you can try the library first to see how your dc like them.

We have two sets from Costco and they include the books, a door hanger, some stickers, some activity books with a couple pages for each book, and a parent guide.

We have the first Costco set (not the pre-readers). I think it corresponds to sets 1 and half of 2 on amazon. They haven't gotten a ton of love around here. DD is now reading other level 1 readers and the word family basis of bob books seems to have never really caught her attention. If I were to do it over again I'd probably get the sight word bob books (which she has at preschool) or skip them all together.

No love here either. I donated them, and I am a book hoarder.

We have two of the sets... I want to say the pre-reader ones and the sight words. DD loves the sight words one... she sits down by herself a lot of the time to read them. They aren't something we enjoy reading together though.

We had better luck with the early reader type books that had favorite characters (princesses and fairies). Lots at Target.

I like these better, too. DS likes them and he likes the Bob books as well.

My favorite first reader type books are the Usborne ones but those are $.
