rainbow loom/craft ideas

I remember reading posts around Christmas about the Rainbow Loom. It seemed it was quite popular, and most people recommended the original RL, not a knockoff. Is the RL still popular? Any experience with knock off ones?

I was thinking about putting one in DD's Easter Basket, but wasn't sure if she is too young. DD is 5.5. Any other craft ideas?

Yes, they are still very popular! I would get the original one. I think personally think that 5 would be too young unless she just has a good grasp on doing more complicated crafts.

I think the Rainbow Loom fever has gone down since after Xmas, but I do think it is worth having a set if you do not already have one. Like PP mentioned, get the original Rainbow Loom.

I think it's a wonderful idea, if you think she'd be able to do it. DS is 5.5 and he has had one for about 4 months now. He needs help getting started, but then he's able to continue on his own.
