I've decided that for the summer we need bins instead of the racks for peoples shoes. I am looking for 4 square/rectangle ish containers (one for each of us) that look ok to put in the entry way for shoes (4-5 pairs per person -- sneakers, crocs, flip flops NOT boots etc). Any suggestions? bonus if I can order them online.

We use old wooden apple crates. May not be the look that you're looking for, but it works great in our (old, historic) house.

Ah...it would work then:) We got them on Craigslist, but I've seen them for sale at local orchards here and there. Maybe call around to some local ones? They fit about 4-5 pairs of adult shoes - more for little people. We use them for boots too (although those crates are in the hall closet).

I like that will hunt around. etsy has some but they are $$.

Other ideas?

We use woven baskets from Ikea that fit in the Expedit.

I also use the woven basket ikea ones but for crates, if you can't find vintage ones you can get new ones at hobby lobby and stain/distress them to your liking. Probably cheaper than any vintage ones you might find, too.

I found some great baskets at target by Threshold. They have a lot of different styles that are attractive.

We use locker-style bins I found at Homegoods, but they also have lots of great fabric bins for great prices ($10-$15) that I have used in our Expedit.

Michael's sells wooden crates for $14.99. I think they're unpainted, but you could paint them whatever color you like. There's always a 40% off coupon every week and once in a while they have a 50% off coupon.
