Update: I wanted to thank everyone for their recommendations. I ended up ordering a little of everything just to see what I liked, then sent some stuff back. I decided to go with a Haiku bag for my everyday purse. I love the prints, pockets, style, and that they are made of recycled bottles! I"m still waiting on my Baggallini and Lug bags that I ordered as my "bigger" bag to take the to zoo, park, etc when I don't need the diaper bag for DS2. Can't wait to get them and figure out which one I want.

I need a cute cross body purse but can't seem to find what I want. I need it to hold DS's epipens which are in a 31 thermal zipper bag, my wallet, cellphone, and keys. I'd like it to be colorful. I've been looking for months, and just can't seem to find the right one.

I also probably need a bit bigger bag that I can take to the zoo or outings that can hold all of the above plus hands wipes, a few snacks, and maybe a water bottle. Help!!

Anything at Le Sport Sac? They have some cute prints! Some are 40% or 50% off, too.

Haiku bag? Colorful but a bit tamer than JuJuBe (whose functionality I loved but the prints were not really my style).

My current fave is a faux leather one from DSW. And I usually stick to real leather >200! I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I like this one. I have it in navy, which is lighter than pictured.

I was just looking for a cross body and was struggling to find something I liked - just got these from Zappos, one to use when i don't need to carry much, the other for when i want to fit a bit more, like water or snacks. Haven't used them much yet but they are very light and seem like they'll hold up well, plus are very cute in person!

Overland makes great useful bags. Baggallini has some great options too.

I love baggallinis, and they are usually cheaper on ebags. I have this one and use it everyday - the front zip pocket fits my phone perfectly:

There are lots of other options as well on ebags.

Thanks for this post. I really want a small cross-body purse. I thought this one looked good from a pp http://www.baggallini.com/product/Everyday-Bagg .

I am also wanting a medium-sized bag for the park.

I'm itching for a new bag for summer and have been eying the Sydney. I'm not sure if it will be big enough for me though. My normal purse stuff includes large wallet (currently a very Bradley turnlock), sunglasses case, two small cosmetic bags, keys, iPhone, tissues, granola bar, small snack for my two girls, and a bonus if it fits my water bottle. I'm guessing the Sydney will be too small?

For the OP, I have an overland Donner and vera Bradley saddle up that are my go-to crossbody bags. Both very lightweight and a good amount of pockets.

I'd totally just go to a TJ Maxx or Marshall's and play around. I picked up a great Sherpani last year on whim there. It was great for my needs. I love purse hunting there. :)

Asked the same question last year and came up with a Baggalini.

Which style? I used to have an older style Moped but it was too small at the time. Loved all the pockets and how lightweight it was though!

Eta: I had the Moped before the one I linked above. I wish there was a size between them :)

For carrying a water bottle, my favorite bag is actually an Ameribag: http://www.ebags.com/product/ameribag/healthy-back-bag-micro-fiber-medium/3196?productid=9182. They used to come in a variety of colors, but I see the choices are limited now. I love that there's a dedicated water bottle pocket on the outside and I love all the zippers and organization of the inside. When I'm not using my Ameribag, I love using my Baggallini bags. I have several of their small purses, but in general I like that they have brightly colored linings and also offer good organization. They're very lightweight and the nylon material is very durable.

I have the "Everyday" bag and love it. It's my go-to purse. I love that it carries my mommy essentials separately from the diaper bag. I found mine at TJ Maxx a year or two ago.

Just to clarify, I think you mean the "Everywhere" bag. ;)

I have a smaller Kipling bag and I've stopped carrying anything else, LOL. They are SO practical and they can be tossed in the wash when they get gross (I don't know that they recommend it, but I have)! They have larger sizes too. The zippers are amazing quality, so smooth and never snag. The straps are wide and easy to quickly adjust (I adjust mine between a shoulder bag and a crossbody ALL the time). The material is smooth and doesn't collect dog hair or anything, but it's really sturdy. I'm super happy with it:) The material is water resistant but not waterproof so if you get wet (like at a theme park on a ride) the inside contents could get damp as well so if you're going to be doing stuff like that, I always have a few ziplocks on hand.

The smallest bag I currently use to carry a pair of Epi Pen Jr is my Sherpani Milli (https://sherpani.com/womens-shoulder-bags.aspx)crossbody bag. I have an older model in a lime green. It holds wallet, 2 Epi, 1-2 pull ups, a small wipes container, sunglasses, etc. It has a side pocket that holds my (small) cell phone very well, meaning it doesn't fall out when I bend over but its easy enough to pull it out so I'm not missing phone calls. I can also fit 1-2 board books, matchbox cars and small snacks as needed though it does get heavy at that point.

I love my LeSportSac bags for most colorful and I use them for longer days out. The bag itself is so lightweight and love all the pockets. I have at least 2 deluxe Everyday Bags and one much larger tote, a Weekender with charm, that holds most of our swim stuff. They have all held up very well to abuse over the years. I even have a plain black one that I used for a diaperbag and Dh carried it too. That said, all the sizes I have experience with are probably more bag ethan you'd need.
