Moving from Naked Time to Wearing Underwear

DS is potty training right now -- with DD1 in school, DD2 visiting her grandparents and a long weekend coming, I've had this week to pretty much stay housebound and train him boot-camp style. He is doing awesome so far, only one accident since Tuesday. But he has pretty much been naked for the last four days; his one accident happened when I had him in underwear and shorts. It's like he knows when he has to go, but forgets when he is wearing clothes.

I'm trying to make him wear underpants today, but he is fighting and saying he wants to be naked. Clearly, I need him in clothes when we pick up our regular routine on Tuesday. Any ideas on how to get him transitioned into underwear?

can you skip underwear and just do shorts? I didn't do much naked time but we started with gerber and hanna training underwear. It helps hold in the drips that happen on the way to the potty without ruining their shorts!
