In addition to a backpack/tote, I am also searching (rather unsuccesfully so far) for some very comfortable walking sandals. I would like something that is comfortable but at least a little cute. I tend to like metallics in that they go with everything.

I also would like an ankle strap and a cork or some other shock-aborbing footbed.

I tried pretty much everything at our local Walking Company, and no luck. The Naots were too narrow. The Taos Party were cute but too big in one size and too small in the next. I think it was the Abeos that were cute but had too MUCH arch support.

Any other suggestions?

Other thing I'm on the lookout for--cute packable sun hat!

I am HATING shopping right now. I realized how much I dislike shopping when I am looking for something in particular. Struck out at Athleta last night, too--was looking for a new swimsuit (no bra sized suits in the store and almost all sold out online) and for wicking/walking shorts (no more Dippers). Arrggh!

I've been looking for a similar metallic Sandal and the Noats were too narrow at the front of the foot for me too.

Here are a few of the items on my Zappos list to try:

Thanks, mikala. The Sofft Baretta ones look like something I might try--wish they were more of a pewter than a bright silver, but still--not bad.

How about this Ecco? I have a similar one from last year, but it's not padded on the bottom:

These pair of Naots may be a little wider (from the reviews): http://www.shoebuy.com/naot-paris/365812/857312

And here is one more that looks comfy (can't decide if it's ugly or cute): http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/softwalk-bandito-sandal/3421160?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=PEWTER&resultback=8400&cm_sp=personalizedsort-_-browseresults-_-3_24_C

Let me know if you find anything else. : )

I've worn these all day traveling in Italy and at theme parks here at home. Very comfortable. I would take them on your trip.

There's a few more options on the Teva website.
I have a pair of similar sandals and they're awesome!

ETA:

I have a pair of Naots with this same footbed and sole and they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

My mom wears this Naot line, and she has a huge bunion so I don't think they can be too narrow.

I just bought these to try for an upcoming, walking intense vacation:

They were recommended here and look pretty cute for Keens, IMO.

I was in Israel for a month last summer, and brought a pair of Naot and a pair of Teva sandals. Both were awesome- very comfortable for walking around all day in the heat. You can't go wrong with either!

Thanks for all the great sandal recs! I will report back on the two that I have ordered when they get here, and if they don't work, I will definitely order some of the others. (I am going to start having to leave cookies for the UPS man--so many orders lately!)

Teva are the only flipflop that I can wear ALL day with no foot troubles. Beaches, mtns, cities.... No ankle straps tho I like the flip flop.

Update: The Naot Paris and the Sofft Barettas arrived today. The Naots in metallic were prettier in person than in the photos--they are the perfect metallic-that looks like it would be even more interesting over time with wear. I really loved how they looked. And they were, for the most part, comfortable, except that they are a little narrow right across the toes. I feel like my pinky toes were a little squished and the strap rubbed on them a little. So bummed! They would have been a winner otherwise.

The Sofft Barettas are okay looking. The silver is not as bright as it looks in the photo which is good. I feel like they look a little clunky on my feet (and I have small feet--I bought these in a 37, and they seem to run long). They don't hurt anywhere, but they feel very flat when I walk. They aren't super bendable, so I walk a little bit "heel/toe" without as much roll as I'd like. Also, the front straps are loose on the second to last hole and tight on the last hole.

Though this isn't a bad fit, I wonder if there is an even better one out there for me.
