Anyone know how the groupon buy with friends work??

In another forum I saw someone posting a referral link for a groupon she just purchased but that if 2 more people buy it, everyone gets $11 back. By the time I got to buying or though, the "referral" link was sold out.

My friend bought an item and shared it but her referral link didn't offer any type of buy with friends link

Anyone knows how that works?

I have only done one. My friend posted her link to her facebook, and another friend and I bought it. They emailed me when we hit the 3 people who bought it and I got a partial refund. I think you need to go through your friend's link. It sounds like you are out of luck if it is sold out.
