wean? or what else to do...

DD is 2. she still generally nurses twice a day - before nap and before bed

i had assumed this was mostly comfort; however, on Monday night she just wanted to go to sleep and then I was out on Tues when she went in for nap and for bed. so she didn't nurse three times. and this morning I was in pain. i couldn't wait for nap time to roll around.

i'm not getting very nervous b/c we are going on a little trip with DS at the end of Aug - will be gone Sat morning through Tues afternoon.

I no longer own a pump - gave mine away

I really didn't think I would still need to worry about expressing at this point

Is there anything I can or should do to lessen the discomfort without having to fully wean and without having access to a pump?

If we do wean, how do I go about doing it so that it doesn't hurt?

With DS, he just weaned himself and I don't remember too much discomfort.

If you don't want to wean, maybe pick up a cheap manual pump, or hand express some before bed?

I'd just take a shower and manually express. If she wants to wean, that's fine, but you don't have to wean in order to get relief.
