Technically, the box says 6 and up, but from the reviews I read, younger kids can play with it with minor supervision.

Boo, so sorry! Amazon must have sold out. When I ordered, the page said it would take a couple extra days to ship, but they had stock. Didn't realize supply was so limited!

Picked up the 250 piece zoob set, what a great price ($22). We have the 75 piece set that we got as a gift and it is used a fair bit. I also picked up the zoob car designer kit which was $15 earlier today (it is $20 now).

As for if they would make a good gift for a 5 year old girl, I think so. They are a lot of fun and it is amazing what you can make with them. From our experience, under 6 is fine but they may not get all the different ways the blocks can snap together. This is ok as they can grow with them and build more as they figure it out.

Thanks so much for posting, OP! Got the science kit and the Alex ready, set, school kit--great way to entertain my kiddies over the next few weeks before school starts. Wish the zoob deal was still on, looks like it would make a fun gift!
