I got 2 for 10 yo and 6 yo. Are the worth it or should I wait for the new version?

I think it's worth it but it was a gift from my parents to my toddler so he's not really going to care if a newer model comes out.

My dc will be 12 next month. We got 2 last time target had this sale. They were happy to be able to afford an iPad mini. I don't think they were concerned that they didn't get the version with retina display.

I got one but am considering returning it. I'd rather them read a book or interact with the family.
