View Full Version : Dance shoes
*sigh* I signed DD2 up for clogging this year. The shoes are expensive as crap, so I ordered from an online retailer that is one of TWO shops that our dance director encourages people to use. That was two weeks ago. I called her & spoke as she doesn't have a way to pay online. She told me she had a pair that was the correct size & would ship them that day if she could find the correct tap style in that size, etc. If not, she'd call me back with an ETA.
Dance starts today. I haven't heard back.
Now, I know with the holiday yesterday, she probably took off this weekend, but I've been trying to get up with her since the end of last week to see what's up, and haven't heard back from emails or phone calls. So, now I need to call her again today to see if I should just wait on her or if I need to go to the local place that is ~$40 more expensive! to see if they have DD's size in stock. AAAHHH!

Can you post an ISO to a local FB group? Someone might want to get rid of their DD's too small shoes.
ETA: sorry, just noticed it was a BP. I hate when stores don't get back to you. And what's up with super expensive dance shoes?

Dance shoes are ridiculous! I feel your pain. I end up buying at the local outrageously priced dance boutique because DD1 has finicky feet but gosh, I don't like paying more for her seldom used tap shoes and jazz shoes than her everyday shoes.

*laughs* That's okay. There's actually a shoe sale board at the dance studio that parents use, so here's hoping someone is selling last year's shoes, in her small size. (It's actually the smallest size this place even stocks in this style!) However, these are split sole shoes, and I've been told they don't hold up very well, so I'm not holding my breath.
And I just wish she'd get back to me as to whether their being shipped, or if she lost my order, or WHAT, because I hate to lay out money now only to have them show up tomorrow!
*laughs* So, now, two weeks after I posted this, which was over 2 weeks after I ordered, I get an email that she finally has the taps in stock (italics hers) and do I still want them. Which came in JUST before the invoice email. So, for over two weeks, she couldn't email, call, or text to let me know that she was still waiting on the taps but would let me know soon. Yeah, I told her that I had already bought DD a pair elsewhere since I hadn't heard from her in over 4 weeks.
