Marbulous Marble Run or other alternatives

DD is turning 8 - has never really been into building, but I've noticed she's been talking about marble tracks recently....so I'm considering getting her one.

Based on past threads, it seems like the Marbulous one is pretty well-liked. Is the 102 piece one a good place to start? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J4OLNB8/ref=twister_B00JMGBY12

that be enough pieces? Are there other good alternatives? I don't want to break the bank with the $200+ sets out there, since I don't know if it will actually be used, but do want to get her "enough" that it's a fun toy at her age. No other DCs, so it's hitting Craigslist when we're done!

Any advise?

We don't have the one you linked, but DS (age 5) loves his Quadrilla set. He consistently asked for it from the first time he saw one at a local toy store when he was about 3 until I gave it to him for his 5th birthday. He LOVES it. He can now design and put together runs on his own. It was worth the cost for us, but it is expensive IMO.

We have the discovery toys Marbleworks sets, some were mine as a kid and some are new. They are great.

I'm curious about the age range for the Quercetti skyrail sets. I think I'm old enough!!! Check out YouTube - there's an awesome channel we are obsessed with - if you search "marble run pool" you'll see it - these kids make awesome runs and then film them. Check it out. Could be a fun family activity if you don't think your daughter is old enough.
